Opportunities for Success Achieving Indepenence Programs and Funders

Communities throughout America have experienced dramatic demographic, economic, and technological changes over the past fifty years, and nearly everyone working in education and workforce development today feels the impact of these forces. In Brockton, for example, 25 percent of the population over the age of 25 has no high school diploma and 12 percent of families live below the poverty level.

Impacting Our Community

As a leader in community collaborations, BAPIC recognizes the power that cross-community partnerships can offer the future of education and workforce investment. BAPIC forms productive relationships with academic institutions, community-based organizations, and corporations. Avoiding a standardized approach to workforce development, BAPIC seeks partners that demonstrate a clear knowledge of local priorities.

Within the first three years of the operation of the RISE Center, over 2,200 youth have been provided services through the Brockton RISE Youth Opportunity Center.

  • 366 have graduated high school
  • 99 who dropped out of school have attained their GED
  • 35 have enrolled in college
  • 62 have graduated college
  • 1721 have been placed in employment
  • The collaborations that BPIC forms are mutually beneficial, providing a structure for like-minded institutions to share knowledge, exchange resources, and result in a dynamic impact on the community.

BAPIC’s programs are designed to positively impact the educational skills and economic status of Brockton residents, and provide the business community with more educated and skilled workforce.
